1.1 Questions about flash main-frames and sub-frames... (Strongly recommend to read)

Question: We are evaluating your product to see if it would be useful to us before purchasing it. We very much need this converter. However, we are challenged. We are trying to convert from swf to avi. The swf version of the file seems to work fine. Your software converts it with no errors, but does not display it correct.
The general makeup of the flash file is there is one frame in the main scene with a background image; Movie Symbol is placed on the scene that has items moving across the screen using a motion tween (from off one edge, across off the other edge). However, the avi only displays the background image and does not show the items moving across. Best I can tell is the avi is starting and ending in the last frame. Do you have input on this. Your help is appreciated. We really need a software like this one.

Thanks,
Dave Hirsch

Answer: I think your swf file is a "Single Frame" swf file, it means your swf file have only one frame or several frames, we called these "Main-frames", but many "Sub-frames" include in every Main-frame.Only main-frames number is recorded in a swf file, so our application only can get the main-frames number as the default converted frames. For example, your swf file have one background frame, and have 100 frames include in the background frame to show the Movie Symbol moving across, in this case, our application set the "startframe" and "endframe" as "1 to 1", but in fact, your swf file have 100 frames, so you should set it as "endframe to 100" manually.

1.2 Questions about running f2vcmdln.exe on a windows 2003 / windows 2008?

Question: I just have a question regarding running f2vcmdln.exe on a windows 2003 server box. The demo bird .bat files work fine on Windows XP, but they seem to fail on windows 2003 which will be our final production environment. The console windows just exits without an error, but the file (eg such as the animated gif) is not created. I imagine it could be some kind of security setting - I was just wondering if you had any idea what i could look at to troubleshoot the problem.

Cheers,
Paul

Answer: On a Windows 2003, you maybe add the f2vcmdln.exe into "Data Execute Protection". Control Pannel->System->Advanced->Performance Settings->Data Execute Protection->Add...

1.3 How to install Fraunhofer IIS MP3 codec?

Question: How to install Fraunhofer IIS MP3 codec?

John

1.4 How to pass flashvars to a swf file?
Question: I just have another question :) I couldn't work out from the documentation how to pass flashvars to the swf file that will need to be converted to video. My swf file will need to accept two parameters that I'd normally pass in via the flashvars querystring in the embed object html code , eg flashvar="uid=9999&usertype=student". Could you please let me know if it is possible to use flashvars with your product ,and if so could you please provide an example?

Many thanks!
Paul

Answer:From 1.3 version, Flash2Video Command Line support passing flashvars to a swf file, the flashvars is case-sensitive, for example:
f2vcmdln.exe -cmd createtask -sourcefile "yourswf.swf?uid=9999&usertype=student" -taskfile yourtask.tsk
1.5 How to hide the program window during the conversion?

Question:How to hide the program window during the conversion?

Best Regards,
Andy Staniszewski

Answer:Set "-winmode" switch to "hide" to hide the application window, very useful for your own redistribution. For example:
f2vcmdln.exe -cmd execute -taskfile yourtask.tsk -winmode hide -interval 2000

1.7 How to solve "shockwave flash ocx file lost" error?

Question: I removed the trial version as per instructions and loaded the registered-version below. However, the following message appeared when I tried to start the program "Shockwave Flash OCX file lost, please re-install it and try again!" I reinstalled and tried again several times. Do I have to re-boot the computer before trying to operate program?

Juan

(1) Please click "start" on your windows desktop, and then click "run" menu.

"regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash.ocx"
(3) Click "Ok" button.

1.8 Why your product is expensive?

Question: Why your product is expensive?

Answer: Because Flash2Video Command Line is the best product suitable for multi-instance-conversion.
No need to test playback performance to make sure every conversion is correct.
Convert audio and video synchronously instead of recording the audio then converting the video.
No need to compress the audio and video data after conversion, conversion and compression at the same time, no secondary conversion.
